Jim_Hunter_picJim Hunter and Simpson Creek is a country band that has a repertoire of songs spanning five and a half decades. The variety of old and new country, with an occasional rock and roll song have the crowd, young and old alike, tapping their feet, clapping and singing along. Dancers enjoy the two-step, country swing, waltz as well as line dances and more.The band members have a combined musical experience of over one hundred years and all have country music in their hearts.

The band has been performing in the in the Sacramento area for many years. In 1976 while performing as the "Drifters," the band won the "Band of the Year" award at the California State Fair and Jim Hunter was named "Male Vocalist of the Year." In the eighties and nineties the band performed under the name “Country Pleasure,” performing in clubs and doing casuals in the Sacramento and Woodland area, including Nashville West, Cedar Room and the Dixon May Fair.

The band, perhaps best known as the Jim Hunter Band, has recently booked themselves as Jim Hunter and Simpson Creek, named after a creek in West Virginia where Jim was born and raised. Jim Hunter and Simpson Creek has been performing at various places in the Woodland and Marysville areas including the Branding Iron, the Eagles, Brown's Corner, Plainfield Station, Big Mac Daddy's and the Yolo County Fair.

Band members are Jim Hunter, lead vocalist and rhythm guitar; Dave Semeria lead guitarist and vocals; Ed Killian, bass guitarist and Bruce Crum, drummer.
